What does patient need to be aware of before visiting?

Mandatory masking has ended on June 13th, 2022.

Patient should arrive alone (where possible) and as close to the appointment time as possible. If a patient is unable to arrive alone, the person accompanying will be screened at arrival to the appointment and will be asked to provide their name and number upon arrival for contact tracing purposes. The person accompanying should also wear a clean disposable or reusable mask to arrive at the appointment.

Items that are frequently shared and unnecessary to achieving treatment outcomes are removed. Hence, water and tea services are temporary suspended. If you have a tendency of dehydration, please bring your own beverages.

What have we changed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19?

RMT will be using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as disposable mask, face shield and gloves during your appointment.

Air purifiers with H13 HEPA filter are used in treatment room and common area to help remove 99.97% of contaminants (pollen, dust, mold, bacteria, dust mites, common smoke, lead dust, pet dander, asbestos, paint pigment, insecticide, anthrax, carbon dust, all bacteria, tobacco smoke and virus carriers) and respiratory droplets with a size of 0.3 microns that spread the virus according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Increase frequencies of cleaning and disinfecting. A “wipe-twice” method (wipe once to clean, wipe again to disinfect) will be used to both clean and disinfect surfaces. PREempt multi-surface disinfectant (DIN 02436701), approved by Health Canada, is used to disinfect the treatment room and common area.

Items in the treatment room that cannot be cleaned or disinfected between patients are removed, such as holsters and re-usable hand towels. Flannel sheet will be use as alternative for blanket.  Pillowshave a vinyl cover to help with the cleaning and disinfecting.

Bookings are spaced out 30-45mins to clean and disinfect the treatment room and common areas.

Before accepting an appointment, patient will be screened over the phone or email for the risk of COVID-19. Immediately prior to treatment, patient will be screened again to ensure COVID-19 status has not changed.  The screening will be documented in the patient’s health record.

Record all people entering the space for contact tracing purpose.

If you are experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19, please do not visit the clinic. You should self-isolate and complete the online self-assessment tool (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/) before contacting your primary care provider or Telehealth Ontario 1-866-797-0000. If you need immediate medical attention, call 911 and tell them your symptoms.
